Today's post is coming to you from Vermont. God, I love this part of the country!
Last week I flew to San Antonio to spend the weekend with Mom and today I am visiting the Simon Pearce facilities followed by a trip to Azulina's home in the US, our warehouse and fulfillment facility in upstate New York. Next week we'll be shooting photos for our next catalog with the one and only Jay Marroquin, followed by a trunk show in Houston (more to come). Fun stuff!
So something interesting happened this weekend and it got me thinking a lot about safety and how important it is in our daily lives. (Sorry for making an example out of you, Momma)
On Sunday evening my mom was in her barn feeding the horses, as she does every day. I was on the other side of the fence chatting with her when she let out a big yelp. Her saddlebred, a 1,200 lb horse, stepped on her toe. And she was wearing FLIP FLOPS.
Now, kids. If you have ever been around livestock/horses/elephants. One thing you always, always, ALWAYS should do is wear boots. No questions asked. Wear your boots no matter what. Same goes when you are riding horses.
Remember our post from two weeks ago?? Shit happens, y'all.
But this applies to a much broader range of situations, and since we love you, we want to be that voice in your head to remind you to always do the following:
- Wear your seat belt.
- Wear a helmet (on bikes, horses, bulls...whatever your mode of transport is).
- Wear boots around things that can crush your feet, like horses.
- Look boths ways before you cross the street.
- Don't drink and drive.
Yeah, we're all adults and we're all smart, so take the time to take care of yourself.
Be safe out there.
Con Mucho Amor,
